FAQ's

Q. When should I book my wedding day makeup / hair?

A. The sooner, the better! I do get booked up to 18 months in advance, with April - September being peak season.

Q. How do I book?

A. You can get in touch via email at kellymelissamakeup@gmail.com or alternatively using the contact form here.
For me to check my availability, please include your wedding date, getting ready location, how many persons your booking is for, and the time you would need to be ready by.
I will then confirm the total price of booking, including breakdown, and If you are happy to proceed, I will then send you an invoice for the trial. Please see here for my full price list.

Q. How far in advance should I have my trial?

A. For makeup I generally do trials any time before- if you are prone to tan over Summer, I just change up the makeup shade for on the wedding day.
With hair, anytime is fine too, so long as the length/ style of your hair will be the same as on your wedding day. We always take lots of photos and write down all products used, to ensure nothing is forgotten on the wedding day.

Q. How long does a trial take?

A. There is no time limit, I'm all yours until you are happy with the final look. I'd estimate 1-2 hours for either makeup or hair, or 2-3 hours for both makeup & hair.. this includes discussing the look you are after, trying out different styles, and making alterations.

Q. Do I need to bring anything to my trial?

A. If you know what kind of looks you would like to try, photo references are helpful so that I can get a good idea of what you're after- please bear in mind that if you have the complexion of Dita Von Teese, a Kim Kardashian makeup won't necessary translate onto you!
If you are unsure of what you are after, that is completely fine too! I always bring my 'book of ideas' just incase.
Wearing a white top also gives an idea of how your makeup & hair will look with your wedding dress.
If I am coming to you at your home, please have ready a table where I can set up, near a window with the most natural light possible.

Q. Can your stylist work with very short hair?

A. Yes, definitely, my team of stylists have extensive knowledge when it comes to all lengths of hair, whether very short or very long.

Q. What if I have short hair and want it to look longer, what can I do?

A. I have a hair extensions specialist in my team, to ensure the bride can have her hair as long as she would like for her special day.
Please get in touch to book a consultation.

Q. What happens on the wedding day?

A. If all the wedding party could have their faces exfoliated and moisturised, hair washed the day beforehand, that would be perfect. The makeup artist / Hairstylist would then discuss how best to schedule everyone.
